It was a perfect evening and the ninth annual
Taste of St. Lucie was the best one ever! Over 1,500 hungry
people came out to sample some of the finest cuisine from more
than 50 of the area’s best restaurants.
There was dining, dancing and plenty of laughter
and merriment as Taste of St. Lucie took over historic Downtown
Fort Pierce and made history!
More than $54,000 was raised and, at the end of
the evening, Herbeque, Sam Snead’s and Granny’s Kitchen took the
top three Taster’s Choice honors, respectively. The really big
winners of the evening though, were the children of Big Brothers
Big Sisters, and the mentoring programs provided
to over 1,500 children throughout St. Lucie, Indian River and
Okeechobee Counties.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is so grateful to the
supporters and sponsors of Taste of St. Lucie - especially this
year. From the anonymous donor who came through with a gigantic
$25,000, to the staff at Wal-Mart Distribution Center #7038 who,
along with St. Lucie County Veterans’
Services Director, Paul Hiott, worked tirelessly
to set up and tear down the entire event. We are grateful for
the Fort Pierce Police Department, FPUA and St. Lucie County for
the incredible support and assistance they provided. Why! We’re
grateful to everyone who helped pull it all together, tear it
all down, and especially those who came out to enjoy a taste of
the best Taste ever! To see your photos, please visit
